“Rest In Peace DJ RKK, Rémy Kolpa Kopoul and thank you for everything, you will be missed, it was always good to hear you laugh and have you around us. Make em discover Brazilian music in heaven now… Monday means another show; and it starts with a solo sax from Kamasi Washington (Brainfeeder) for my friend Anthony Valadez’s podcast. Right into some smooth gospel flavor s by Vernessa Mitchell, into Lalah Hathaway and a new Knxwledge beat taken from his Stones Throw album coming this week. More new music from Oddisee, and Golden Rules, that’s Paul White side project with an emcee from Florida; played it last year but finally got a release on Lex Recordings. More music from the Bruner family (Thundercat) as Young Jazz Giants, new Kone on New Los Angeles, Debruit, Eska, new Machinedrum as a tribute for DJ Rashad. Habibi Funk from Dalton, new Guilty Simpson, new Dego & Kaidi, Julio Bashmore, 79rs Gang from Louisiana and Mbongwana Star.”

  1. RKK, a great loss to the world of music and culture. He changed a lot of lives for the better, and surely will continue doing so for quite some time. I was very sad to hear of his passing this weekend, he was going strong as ever and his show was still on weekly. I listened to his programme on Radio Nova often, same place I also initially discovered Gilles Peterson – two of the biggest influences on my musical taste, for sure. Farewell, Rémy.
