As you may have noticed Filesonic suspended downloading of files this weekend. This is probably due to Megaupload being destroyed by FBI.
Many other file hosts have fully or partially closed their services, and this will probably change the internet as we know and love.
Let us hope MPAA, RIAA, and all the other backward power houses in Hollywood (and worldwide) will go out of business soon. Their business models are ancient and they need to get up to date with the technology, instead of trying to cripple the internet.
For now Core News will take a break and observe what will happen next. Thanks for understanding and keep on loving good music.

21 January, 2012 (15:32) | MP3, Solid Steel | By: Thomas of Core News
“Pinch is our guest this week and it’s a mix celebrating the release of his FabricLive CD. He has been a key figure in the Bristol music scene and has gone on to create his own label Tectonic Records. Although well known for his dubstep, this mix takes us through the house and techno end of the spectrum and although there isn’t a tracklist available, you’ll spot the already classic ‘Music deep inside’ by Zed Bias and Ossie with ‘Tarantula’.
DK continues with the excellent ‘Spaceman Funk’ by Brawther which leads us into part of his ‘space themed’ set created especially for the DJ Food album launch party at the Greenwich Planetarium. A whole galaxy of space related tracks ranging from spaced out disco from Ednah Holt, the cosmic sounds of Mystic Moods, Talkling Heads with ‘Moon Rocks’ and of course, it wouldn’t be complete without Sun Ra and his Intergalactic Cosmo Arkestra.
In hour 2, our very own Strictly Kev from DJ Food is in the spotlight with an interview about his new album ‘The Search Engine’, which is released on the 23rd January. We get an insight into the making of his album, the collaborators involved and the artwork created by Henry Flint and Strictly Kev himself. We also get to hear tracks from the album along with music that has influenced him over the years, with tracks from Adam and the Ants, Kraftwerk, Grace Jones and Boards of Canada.”

21 January, 2012 (15:06) | Gilles Peterson, MP3 | By: Thomas of Core News
“Masterful music has mood changing powers and Gilles Peterson has the ability to make the sunshine on a rainy day.
After attending a nappy night disco for underagers at his local church hall, music oracle and superstar DJ Gilles Peterson began harboring burning ambitions to become lord of the dance. Today he is the wildly acclaimed, private eye of prefect beats, broadcasting ground breaking radio shows and pod-casts, DJ’ing and event organizing internationally, on a one man mission to keep every genre of music, no matter how bizarre, unusual or outrageous, current and heard. Gilles’ only criteria is that his turntables represent hench talent from all four corners of the planet. i-D got five on it with the Michael Flatley of the new music sphere to chat Mc’s, Facebook and Southern Freeze.”

21 January, 2012 (10:32) | Essential Mix, MP3 | By: Thomas of Core News
“The 2 Bears take over Radio 1′s Essential Mix, featuring a hot-off-the-press Soulwax remix of Joe Goddard’s ‘Gabriel’ and an exclusive Simon (Basement Jaxx) Radcliffe remix of ‘Be Strong’!
The 2 Bears are hairy ravers Raf Rundell and Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard. They first worked together at the Greco Roman Soundsystem parties in London in 2009. Apparently they were going to be a trio with Joe Mount from Metronomy, called ’3 Bears’. But they settled on becoming a duo and released their first EP on Southern Fried in 2010. The massive ‘Bear Hug’ was released last year and they are just about to drop their debut album ‘Be Strong’.
This show contains strong language.”
